Ikebana International Ottawa Centennial Chapter is pleased to present video programmes on zoom for Chapter Members in 2020-2021.

Programme 2020-2021

September 30, 2020. Demonstration video, “Summer to Fall – Fall to Winter”, by Senko Ikenobo, Headmaster Designate, Ikenobo School of Ikebana.

October 28, 2020. Demonstration video, “Beauty of Ohara” by Jose Salcedo, First Term Master, Ohara School of Ikebana.

November 25, 2020. Demonstration video, “At Home with Ikebana” by Elaine Jo, Executive Master, Ichiyo School of Ikebana.

December 2020. No virtual meeting

Winter and spring 2021 virtual programme schedule will be available in early New Year.

Programme 2019-2020 - (flash-back)

All meetings, unless otherwise stated, took place at Sandy Hill Community Centre, 250 Somerset East, Ottawa (12:00 p.m.). The centre is located at the corner of Sweetland Avenue, east of King Edward Avenue.

September 25, 2019. Demonstration by Professor Yuko Ichimori, Ikenobo School of Ikebana, Vice President, Ikebana International Toronto Chapter No.

October 30, 2019. Workshop for chapter members on Sumi-e painting by Keiko Nagasawa, at 12:30 pm, Sandy Hill Community Centre, 250 Somerset street East, Ottawa.

November 27, 2019. Ikebana International Ottawa Chapter Holiday Market (bazaar), 11:30 am – 1:30 pm, Main Hall, Sandy Hill Community Centre.

November 30, 2019. Two Ikebana workshops for the public will be offered at 1 pm by Claire McCaughey, Sogetsu School of Ikebana and at 2:30 pm by Keiko Nagasawa, Ohara School of Ikebana, Pre-registration required

December 2019. No meeting

January 29, 2020. Shibori workshop by Minami Tamura, Shibori artist. Use of Japanese tie dye with silk scarves.

February 26, 2020. Workshop using potted tulip plants by Anne Breau, Sogetsu School of Ikebana. Ikebana creations with focus on tulip bulbs arranged in transparent glass vase.

March 2020. No meeting

April 9-13, 2020. Annual Exhibition of Ikebana International Ottawa Centennial Chapter, Canadian Museum of Nature, 240 McLeod Street (corner of Metcalfe), Ottawa. Exhibition “Ode to Spring” was postponed to Spring 2021 due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Chapter’s monthly programmes were pre-empted from March 2020 to August 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic and the inability to hold in-person meetings.
