Program of our Ottawa Centennial Chapter No. 120 , autumn 2008 to summer 2009

September 28 - 14:00 to 16:00 - Tea time at the MacKenzie King Estate in Gatineau Park, in Quebec. The fees for the tea is paid by our chapter but you have to pay for the parking. Suggestion that we carpool to MacKenzie King Estate.  Directions will be sent to members.

October 29 - Beginning at 11:30.A.M. Potluck for our members and their friends. Non-member entrance fee: $10.

November 26 - Our bazaar. The bazaar will feature the potter, Mr Torizuka.  Ikebana International members will be asked to do an arrangement in a container to be used to decorate the room.  I.I. will provide the floral material.  There will be no demonstration. Non-member entrance fee: $5.00.

January 28 - A card workshop will be given. A charge of $8.00 for materials. Non-members: 10$ entrance plus $8.00 for material.

February 25 - Lynn White will give a workshop on making wrist corsages and bow tying. A charge of $10.00 for materials. Non-members: 10$ entrance plus $10.00 for material.

March 25 - Mala Nag will give a workshop on Rangoli.A charge of $10. for material. Non-members: $10. entrance fee plus $10. for material.The meeting begins at 11:30.

April 17-18 - Celebration of the 40th anniversary of Ikebana International Chapter No.120 of Ottawa
Visiting masters of the Aratama School of Ikebana, Sumi Metz and Tran Tuan, of San Francisco are visiting us (private)

May 28 to 31 - Our Japanese Floral Design Exhibition presented by members of the Ottawa Centennial Chapter No.120 of Ikebana International at the Canadian Museum of Nature, 240 Mc Leod St., Ottawa.The theme will be Retrospective.

November 8-9, 2008 - Sogetsu Exhibit (theme: the four elements) at the Embassy of Japan, 255 Sussex Drive, Ottawa

November 22-23, 2008 - 40 Years Anniversary of Painting and Ikebana, Exhibition by Mr. Mitsugi Kikuchi, also Ikebana display's by his friends, at Takahashi Dojo, 5 Melrose Avenue, Ottawa. Mr Kikuchi is planning to have fifteen Ikebana arrangements demonstrating four separate schools of Ikebana at his exhibition. December 6th 2008 - Sogetsu Ottawa Branch Workshop, 9:30 am-12:00 repeated 1:00-3:30pm, at Routhier Centre First Floor Lounge, 172 Guigues St, Ottawa. For members of the Sogetsu schools only, for info. and reservation, Jane Metcalfe, (613) 521-6759 (home).
